Overall Philosophy

We treat every child as a precious individual and appreciate your trust in placing your child in our care. We focus on ensuring each child is happy, relaxed and safe. Each unit is professionally and efficiently organised whilst still providing a warm, caring and stimulating environment thereby helping each child to reach their full potential. We strive to provide a healthy environment with an award winning healthy menu of home cooked food, lots of fruit and vegetables and plenty of opportunity for outdoor play.

Kindergarten Unit

A staffing ratio of one member of staff to three children aged up to two years old enables interactive and responsive care. Consistency of care for all children in the nursery is very important, but essential with the youngest children. The nursery nurses are friendly, professional and experienced people who feel vocational about the care of babies and younger children. Children need familiar faces, carers who know them well as individuals working in partnership with parents and who know their particular developmental needs. .

Toddler Unit

Toddler children aged two to three years old are active, inquisitive and have rapidly developing language and cognitive skills. They socialise and enjoy their various activities. It is also the stage of toilet training and gradually becoming more independent. In the toddler unit children are cared for with a staff to child ratio of one to four. The unit is bright and welcoming and has a wide variety of play equipment, which is used when implementing a flexible yet structured play plan. The planning of weekly activities is based on observations made of children while at play or activity. All staff are involved in the observation and planning process.

Pre-school unit

The pre-school unit aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum in a positive atmosphere delivered by professional and experienced staff who are fundamental to a high standard of care and education. There are opportunities for children to share and form relationships, make choices, to discuss and experiment, to ask questions, to develop essential physical and manipulative skills, to learn through play and planned activities, to communicate and to concentrate and persevere. Our staff, supported by our fully qualified early years teacher, work with small groups on specific learning goals and use innovative techniques such as the Letters and Sounds system. The staff to child ratio for three to four year olds is one to eight.

We aim to:
