"Safety issues are given very high priority, both indoors and outdoors. Rigorous risk assessments are completed for the premises and outings. Staff are constantly vigilant in ensuring the premises and outdoor areas are secured and a record is maintained of persons who visit the nursery."

Tottington Nursery School was established in 1990 by Sue and John Robinson, using their vast experience in both health and education. The nursery has always enjoyed an excellent reputation in the Bury area and in March 2008, Ofsted graded the nursery as ‘Outstanding’ in all five areas of its inspection criteria. This is the second consecutive Ofsted inspection in which the nursery has achieved the highest grade possible.

Demand for places at the Tottington nursery had always been very high so it was decided to expand the nursery provision within the borough of Bury. In 2004 Mulberry Bush Nursery Whitefield was acquired followed by Mulberry Bush Nursery Walshaw in 2006. The Whitefield nursery was then extended in 2008 and the Walshaw nursery increased in size with the addition of a purpose built pre-school building in 2009. The knowledge and experience gained at Tottington Nursery School since 1990 ensures that the same quality childcare is provided across the nursery group.

The key to our success is our staff. We employ passionate, caring, qualified staff and as a result have a very consistent team dedicated to providing a welcoming and stimulating environment for young children.
